World Stroke Day takes place on Oct 29th every year. The global awareness day was established by the World Stroke Organization and provides a global platform for the stroke community to increase awareness and drive action on stroke around the world.

World Stroke Day aims to raise awareness of the serious nature and high rates of stroke and discuss ways we can reduce the burden of stroke through better public awareness. It is also an opportunity to advocate for action by decision makers at all levels to improve stroke prevention, access to acute treatment and support for survivors and caregivers.

For 2021 and 2022, The World Stroke Organization's campaign will be focused on raising awareness of the signs of stroke and the need for timely access to quality stroke treatment.
