Speech Therapy
Speech therapy will enable patients to communicate and interact with their loved ones – both verbally and non-verbally.
The main objective of Speech Therapy is to help patients communicate and interact with others in their lives following any impediments to their ability to do so – brought about by an injury, disability or disease. The emphasis is on communication – meaning it goes beyond just recovering the patient’s ability to speak. Speech therapists will work with clients to help them understand and express themselves in both the spoken and written form of a language as well as any other methods of non-verbal communication.
At Daehan, our Speech Therapy sessions are carried out by a qualified Speech Therapist. The therapist’s focus is on improving our client’s communication skills in creative ways (technology may be used depending on the need to do so) – including devising new ways our patient can interact with family and friends.
In addition to that, our Speech Therapist also helps patients with neurological problems who experience difficulties with swallowing – known as Dysphagia. Patients with Dysphagia will receive therapy using technology like the VitalStim and other methods to retrain swallowing.
