Pulmonary Rehabilitation
We train our patients to breathe properly and efficiently to minimise the risks of respiratory complications.
People who have suffered from a spinal cord injury may also experience respiratory complications. The severity of the problem depends on the respiratory muscle that is affected. Such complications can have a detrimental effect on an individual’s life as the respiratory system is not only responsible for our breathing, it also helps us to speak and smell.
This is why Pulmonary Rehabilitation is crucial as it is a programme that combines education and exercises to improve the respiratory function while reducing breathlessness. At Daehan, we combine our knowledge of respiratory sequelae (consequences of a previous disease or injury) with the Korean rehabilitation method to help patients develop efficient breathing techniques that can prevent further problems. One method we use is intermittent positive pressure breathing, which can maintain a clear airway and improve one’s breathing ability.
